Two Chamber-backed Candidates Elected to APS Board

Board by such wide margins in their districts and are so proud of their student-focused campaigns.

“And we’re deeply disappointed in the outcome of the other two contests. With Danielle Gonzales’ loss, the APS Board is losing one of the most well-prepared and knowledgeable members it has ever had,” said Peter Lorenz, Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce chairman.

We’ve had different and bipartisan leadership on the board for the past four years, people who have focused like a laser on growing our students’ capabilities in reading and math – and imagine that – we’ve seen substantial improvement, with encouraging signs of more to come.

“As we move forward, the Chamber will focus on policies that prioritize academic achievement, career academies and support for Superintendent Gabriella Durán Blakey,” said Terri Cole, president and CEO of the Chamber.
