PROVIDING MORE HEALTH CARE : Grand Canyon University partners with Lovelace Health System on accelerated nursing program

Grand Canyon University officials celebrated the beginning of its accelerated nursing program in partnership with Lovelace Health Systems on June 3.

On June 3, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce was on hand to celebrate Grand Canyon University kicking off its 16-month accelerated nursing program in Albuquerque. The program is a partnership with Lovelace Health Systems.

According to Grand Canyon University, there are currently about 7,000 nursing jobs posted in the state. The program aims to address the ongoing nursing shortage in the state.

The 16-month program includes:

  • Online Courses: In the program, students will complete some coursework in an online format, allowing for convenient learning.
Simulation and Skills Labs: You will have the opportunity to attend hands-on immersive simulation and skills labs to put your new knowledge and skills into practice before you begin working with patients.
  • Clinical Experience: As an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) student, students will attend clinical experiences at area clinical sites in Albuquerque, where they will experience nursing first-hand, learning from faculty and other health care professionals.

The Chamber has long supported efforts to keep health care readily accessible to all New Mexicans.

The Chamber congratulates Grand Canyon University, which has been a Chamber member since 2018, on its latest program. Click here to learn more about the program.
