KNOWLEDGE IS POWER: Daniels Fund a key component to the New Mexico State National Civics Bee Championship.

June is coming up quickly. This means that the New Mexico State National Civics Bee Championship will be held on June 7.

It will be held from noon-3 p.m. at the University of New Mexico SUB Ballroom A.

The National Civics Bee is a civics knowledge competition for middle school students (6th, 7th, & 8th graders). Its mission is to educate children (middle school student participants) and adults (parents, the audience) on how our democracy works and their role and responsibilities as citizens.

The Daniels Fund is helping to tackle the alarming lack of civics knowledge among American youth by partnering with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation for the National Civics Bee.

From its beginning in just five cities three short years ago, the National Civics Bee has swept the nation and is now in 200 cities across 40 states.
