IMPORTANCE OF READING: Albuquerque Reads continues to build its tutor database

Albuquerque Reads is a classroom-based tutoring program that helps struggling kindergarten and first-grade readers boost their literacy achievement to enable lifelong learning.

The Chamber is seeking volunteers for the school year. Tutoring runs mid-September through May and requires just 90 minutes a week of your time – or join a team with friends or colleagues and tutor once a month!

Join Albuquerque Public Schools, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce and volunteers like you to make a lasting difference in a child’s life!

The program is always seeking tutors for both Atrisco, Bel-Air and Whittier elementary schools. For more information on becoming a tutor or sponsor, visit abqreads.com or contact D’Val Westphal at [email protected].
