EXPANDING INTO NM: arc Thrift Stores opens its first site in Albuquerque

The staff at the new arc Thrift Stores celebrate the ribbon cutting in Albuquerque. The store, at 3301 Coors Blvd. NW, is the company’s first location outside of Colorado.

On March 13, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce hosted the ribbon cutting for arc Thrift Stores.

The company has been based in Colorado since 1968, and the Albuquerque store is its first out-of-state location in Albuquerque at 3301 Coors Blvd. NW.

The company has hired around 50 employees for the new store, and about 20% will have some sort of intellectual or developmental disability. Revenue from the thrift store will benefit the arc organization.

According to arc officials, part of the appeal for expanding into New Mexico is the success of competitors like Savers and Goodwill, as well as how close it is to Colorado.

Guests can find a wide range of items at the new store, which includes a drive-thru donation area for anyone interested in donating items. Arc Thrift Stores is running a color tag special, where select items will be 50% off. For more information on arc Thrift Stores, click here.

We welcome arc Thrift Stores to Albuquerque and as a member of the Chamber!
