COLLABORATION CONTINUES: Join the Chamber, CNM, AREA and New Mexico Independent Community Colleges in honoring Legislative Finance Committee

The Robert P. Matteucci Building, which opened on the Central New Mexico Community College campus in March 2023, will host a reception for the LFC July 23.

The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce is collaborating with Central New Mexico Community College, Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance (AREA) and New Mexico Independent Community Colleges for a reception honoring the Legislative Finance Committee.

The event will be immediately after the July 23 LFC meeting and is planned to run from 5-7 p.m. The reception will be at CNM’s Robert P. Matteucci Building, 723 University Blvd. SE

The 16-member LFC is chaired by Rep. Nathan P. Small, D-Doña Ana. Sen. George K. Muñoz, D-Cibola, McKinley & San Juan, serves as vice chair. Charles Sallee serves as the LFC director. Additional senators and representatives serve as designees or in standing advisory roles.

The mission of the Legislative Finance Committee is to provide the Legislature with objective fiscal and public policy analyses, recommendations and oversight of state agencies to improve performance and ensure accountability through the effective allocation of resources for the benefit of all New Mexicans.

The Chamber continues to work closely with the LFC because it controls the funding decisions that directly impact the business community. Face-to-face interactions allow our members to build relationships with the members of the committee.

At the event there will be heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages, and the opportunity to meet with students and employers who have benefitted from NM GRO workforce training funds.
