CHAMBER PROGRAM: Largest-Ever Leadership ABQ Program Gets Underway

Leadership Albuquerque vice chair David Campbell (left) and chair Tom Antram (right) talk to the Class of 2024 about what they can expect from the program.

Last Wednesday, the Leadership Albuquerque Class of 2024 met for the first time at the GACC’s offices for a crash course in all things Albuquerque.

The largest-ever class of 46 professionals from across the metro area and its many sectors were greeted by Leadership Albuquerque chair Tom Antram and vice chair David Campbell, who together gave the class an overview of what awaits them in the program year ahead. The group also heard from the Chamber’s President and CEO Terri Cole and Leadership Albuquerque Program Advisor Scott Darnell about the Chamber’s work and a preview of the topics they’ll learn about – from water and energy to K-12 and early childhood education to public safety – and the expert speakers who will guide their discussion of these topics.

The class also discussed the results of their DiSC assessment, and how they can relate to and manage employees from the other personality profiles. And later, the class had professional headshots taken by Kim Jew for them to use now and after they graduate from the program.

The group will convene again on October 24 for a program day focused on economic development. We’re looking forward to getting to know this new energetic group of professionals throughout the coming year. Stay tuned to meet the class in the next Chamber Connections!
