Tomorrow, the House Commerce and Economic Development Committee will hear House Bill 11, the Paid Family and Medical Leave Act. This bill will enact a half-a-billion-dollar massive new tax increase at a time when state coffers are overflowing. The measure provides for 3 MONTHS of paid leave for a wide range of people and goes way beyond family or medical leave. The bill will expand the bureaucracy by more than 200 people, larger than the staff that administers workers compensation.
