BUILDING A LEGACY: First National 1870 opens its second location in Uptown

Officials at First National 1870 celebrated the grand opening of its location in Uptown on May 19.

On May 19, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce celebrated alongside First National 1870 as it had a ribbon cutting for its Uptown branch, located at 6605 Uptown Blvd NE, Suite 120.

Known as Sunflower Bank, First National 1870 or Guardian Mortgage, the company offers a full range of financial products that create possibilities

Sunflower Bank was founded in 1892 and is now operated as First National 1870 in Albuquerque, Los Alamos and Santa Fe — with roots dating back to 1870.

Sunflower Bank, N.A. has $8.2 billion in assets as of March 31, 2025. It has its headquarters in Dallas and has 71 licensed depository branches and mortgage capabilities in 43 states.

The Chamber congratulates Scott Czarniak, regional president, as well as Jaidon Holland, Uptown branch manager, for the new location in Albuquerque.

First National 1870 has been a member of the Chamber since March 2013.
