A MOMENT TO MINGLE: Chamber hosts business community at Fogo de Chão as part of ‘Shakers & Stirrers’

Kellie Mixon, president and CEO of New Mexico Mutual and treasurer for the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, was the emcee for the Chamber’s “Shakers & Stirrers” event at Fogo de Chão.

On Tuesday, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce held its “Shakers & Stirrers” event at Fogo de Chão — the first of 2025.

“I want to welcome you all here today on behalf of the Chamber,” Kellie Mixon, president and CEO of New Mexico Mutual and treasurer for the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, told the group. “Your investment in the Chamber is so important, allowing us to continue to do important work supporting local business. Our team of lobbyists and policy experts are actively working on behalf of the business community right now to advocate for this year’s Legislative Agenda.”

Mixon said the theme of this year’s Legislative Agenda is “New Mexico Competes.” The Chamber is focused on tackling crime, lowering taxes, improving education and solving the health care workforce shortage.

After lunch, Mixon recognized two of the Chamber’s newest investors — Shonna Begay, Amy Dow and Rohan Mehta with Sonesta ES and Simply Suites and Vanessa Rhein with RM Soap Market.

Mixon said Sonesta ES and Simply Suites offer conveniences including on-site parking, fully equipped kitchens, roomy work areas, free Wi-Fi, and free breakfast with fresh coffee and a variety of offerings and are located near the University of New Mexico, UNM Hospital, Nob Hill and the Albuquerque Convention Center.

Mixon said RM Soap Market is located in Coronado Center and offers a full line of boutique hand-crafted soaps.

The Chamber thanks investors — both old and new — for their support!
