Mourning City Councilor Ken Sanchez: Chamber Statement on Passing of Long-Time City Leader

Chamber President and CEO Terri Cole offered the following statement on the loss of City Councilor Ken Sanchez, who passed away New Year’s Day:

“Our community feels such a profound sense of loss with the passing of Ken Sanchez. He was a statesman who cared deeply about Albuquerque, and about the workers, families, and businesses in our city. He was collaborative, worked easily across party lines, and never put politics ahead of simply doing the right thing for his district and our city.

His life embodied true and honest public service. From the Chamber’s perspective, Ken was always fair, and he respected the role that businesses play in building a stronger city. We will miss his steady leadership and friendly demeanor immensely, and send our deepest condolences to his family.”
