On July 24, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce presented another Legislative Award for work during the 2025 regular session, to Rep. Joshua Hernandez. Rep. Hernandez was unable to attend last month’s meeting and we were delighted to present his award at the July Board Meeting.

GACC Chairman of the Board and Unirac Inc. CEO Peter Lorenz presented the “Start to Finish” Award for Hernandez’s work on the site readiness bill during the 60-day legislative session. Start to Finish means the bill reached the governor’s desk.

Lorenz said New Mexico has long lagged behind surrounding states in ensuring that the state has sites and buildings available for companies that are looking to quickly expand or relocate to the state.

“The legislation and associated funding will help the state invest in this key piece of the economic development puzzle,” Lorenz continued.

Hernandez said this marks only the beginning, and he vowed to continue his work in keeping New Mexico competitive.
