RECOGNIZING GREAT THINGS: University of New Mexico seeking nominations for UNM Alumni Awards

Everyone’s a Lobo, and there are a lot of us making positive change all over the world. The UNM Alumni Association wants to recognize those graduates doing great things but needs your help, and fast.

You have two weeks left to nominate an outstanding alum for the prestigious UNM Alumni Awards. These eight awards honor exceptional Lobos making significant contributions in a range of fields, including education, public service, business and more:

  • James F. Zimmerman Award — Significant contributions that bring fame and honor to UNM or the state of New Mexico.
  • Bernard S. Rodey Award — Leadership that has contributed significantly to the field of education.
  • Erna S. Fergusson Award — Exceptional accomplishments and/or distinguished service to UNM.
  • Zia Award — Excellence in philanthropy, public service, university service, community involvement, business or education.
  • Lobo Award — Outstanding personal service to UNM or career achievements that reflect on the university.
  • Inspirational Young Alumni Award — Professional achievement or community service demonstrating excellence and leadership among emerging alumni.
  • Faculty Teaching Award — Exceptional teaching and service to students by a current full-time UNM faculty member.
  • Research Award — Outstanding research currently conducted by a full-time UNM faculty member.

Nominations close Oct. 1.
