Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
At the May 22 Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meeting, the board approved Peter Lorenz, Unirac Inc. CEO, as the incoming Board Chairman and New Mexico Mutual President and CEO Kellie Mixon as chair-elect of the board.
The upcoming program year begins on July 1.
“Peter brings his superb leadership skills and result-focused style to the role of chairman of the board for the Chamber. This is Peter’s second time as chairman for us, and we are so pleased to have Peter back in this leadership role,” said Chamber President and CEO Terri Cole.
Lorenz will return to the GACC chairman position, where he served from 2022-2023, and has been the CEO of Unirac Inc. since 2011. He has 20-plus years of experience in the electric power and renewables industry including leadership roles at Quanta Service (PWR), McKinsey & Co and Royal Dutch Shell (RDS). In addition to his work in electric power and renewables, Lorenz is a founding board member of Solare Collegiate Charter School in the South Valley and a Board of Trustee at Manhattonville University in New York.
We’re also pleased to congratulate Kellie Mixon in the role as our chair-elect.
“Kellie has been our treasurer, and she has done a fantastic job, and we are very grateful,” Lorenz said. “As a longtime leader in the Albuquerque community and through her advocacy, Kellie strives to make Albuquerque and New Mexico a better place for families and business.”
Mixon has served as the Chamber’s treasurer for four years — taking the reins in Sept. 2021. She is president and CEO of New Mexico Mutual, the state’s largest workers’ compensation insurance provider. She has been with the company for 29 years, serving in several senior leadership roles during her tenure. She holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from New Mexico State University. As CEO, she is advancing New Mexico Mutual’s legacy of innovation and service excellence benefiting policyholders, workers and agent partners.
