
Clerk Michelle S. Kavanaugh is reminding voters about key deadlines for the 2025 CABQ Runoff Election and encouraging residents to consider absentee voting as a convenient option. Absentee ballots will begin mailing on Tuesday, Nov. 18, and voters can request a ballot through Tuesday, Nov. 25.
“Absentee voting is a secure and convenient way to participate in the runoff election,” says Clerk Kavanaugh. “If voting by mail is the best option for you or your family, now is the time to request your ballot and return it as soon as possible.”
The CABQ Runoff is Tuesday, Dec. 9, with contests for City of Albuquerque Mayor and City Council Districts 1 and 3.
Absentee Voting: What Voters Need to Know
- Ballots mailed: Tuesday, Nov. 18
- Deadline to request an absentee ballot: Tuesday, Nov. 25
- Return deadline: Ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Dec. 9
- Voters may return their completed absentee ballot by mail, hand-deliver it to any Early Voting or Election Day polling location, or place it in an official ballot drop box.
