“WEAR A MASK, BRING BUSINESS BACK”: Chamber’s Mask Campaign Picks Up Momentum Statewide as Other Chambers and Leaders Join In

The Chamber last week launched a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of wearing masks in public, making a clear connection between this common-sense public health measure and the economic well-being of our state. Centered around a simple, straightforward slogan — “Wear a Mask. Bring Business Back.” — the campaign has been adopted and promoted by Albuquerque businesses, government leaders, and other large and small Chambers across the state.

The Chamber has made the promotional materials produced for the campaign available to Chambers and other business and tourism organizations across the state in order to spread awareness, and they have been adopted by the Las Cruces, Belen, Ruidoso, and Angel Fire Chambers of Commerce, NAIOP, and others.

“Wearing a mask is a reasonable and straightforward way in which every New Mexican can stand on the front lines and fight this virus,” said Chamber President and CEO Terri Cole. “So many of our businesses are truly just hanging on right now, and with them hang their workers’ livelihoods. Our community and state simply cannot afford a protracted economic shutdown, so let’s wear a mask when we’re around other people and limit the spread of the virus.”
